Wholesome Sweeteners, Inc.

Not all organic sweeteners are equal. Wholesome Sweeteners is the nation’s leading producer of the finest natural sugars, syrups and nectars that are organic, Fairtrade Certified, Non-GMO Verified and are produced completely green with no fossil fuels.

Wholesome Sweeteners, formed in 2001, is the nation’s leading provider of sustainable, environmentally and ethically responsible, great tasting sweeteners in the USA. The sweeteners are Organic, Fairtrade Certified, Non-GMO Verified, highest quality sugars, syrups, and honeys, all made from nature’s best resources. Fair Trade means that our cooperative partners are paid directly for the sugar cane they grow and the honey they harvest, which helps support the farmers, their families and their communities. Whenever possible, we work with Fair Trade Certified farmers cooperatives to improve agricultural and social conditions on small family farms.

Wholesome’s Organic Sugar Cane production is completely Green, wherein no fossil fuels are used to produce the organic sugars. The sugar cane arrives at the mill, where it is crushed and the juice is squeezed out and the fibrous left over material is used as fuel for furnaces that generate the electricity to run the mills.

Wholesome’s farmers grow organic sugar cane without the use of herbicides or pesticides and weeding is done completely by hand which creates local employment. In contrast, traditional cane sugar production uses 350 kgs (about 800 lbs) of Synthetic Fertilizer (Nitrogen-Based) and 1 liter of Chemical Herbicide Concentrate, which is diluted for week control, for its production.

With over 60 new products that have been developed during the last 10 years by Wholesome Sweetners, they are the first choice for many notable chefs and consumer good-food advocates alike. Wholesome Sweeteners is the leading brand of organic sweeteners in grocery stores and the leading supplier of organic sweeteners to food companies as an ingredient.
