Providing the legal community with a scientifically proven lifestyle intervention program that produces real, lasting results?
Healthy Lawyers has partnered with the Lifestyle Medicine Institute to deliver to the nation’s legal community the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) – formerly the Coronary Health Improvement Project found by Dr. Hans Diehl. CHIP is an affordable, lifestyle enrichment program designed to reduce disease risk factors through the adoption of better health habits and appropriate lifestyle modifications.
As the single facilitator of the CHIP program for the legal community termed “The Healthy Lawyers CHIP”, law firms, bar associations, law schools, corporate and government law departments can receive the benefits of LMI’s acclaimed physician resources, technical and training materials and over 25 years of experience in providing lifestyle medicine in order to equip legal professionals with the tools that not only help with reversing and preventing disease and managing stress, but also provides a network for building and strengthening relationships, finding meaning and purpose, and maintaining positive change.
CHIP is endorsed by the Physicians’ Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), and the International Nutrition Research Foundation.
CHIP’s Proven Results
-
Normalize Blood Pressure
Many CHIP participants that are hypertensive at the start of the program dramatically reduce and sometimes eliminate their need for medication.
-
Lower Cholesterol
19.8% reduction in average total cholesterol in 30 days for those with baseline cholesterol of higher than 280mg/dl (7.24 mmol/l).
-
Lower Fasting Blood Glucose
19.9% reduction in average fasting plasma glucose in 30 days for those with baseline fasting plasma glucose of higher than 125mg/dl (6.94 mmol/l).
-
Lower BMI
Participants report reduced BMI by the average of 3% within just 30 days and with long term adherence to the lifestyle resulting in achieving ideal body weight.
More than 50,000 graduates from four continents know how CHIP changes lives.
Healthy Lawyers CHIP will not only show lawyers WHY they need to make better lifestyle choices but also HOW to stop the "good life" from killing them.
Guided by a lawyer facilitator, a physician and supported by the Healthy Lawyers Online Network, the Healthy Lawyers CHIP program is not simply a short term intervention. It is an educational program tailored to the needs of legal professionals in order to guide them through the challenges associated with adopting a new lifestyle, one full of behaviors that bring us toward optimal health.
Healthy Lawyers CHIP will help provide legal professionals with the motivation and the necessary tools needed to enact change, all while fitting around the hectic schedule of the profession. Healthy Lawyers CHIP does not require a carefully controlled setting where diet and exercise are rigorously enforced to produce results; it produces results in the legal community, teaching participants how to navigate towards optimal health in their everyday lives.
